There are two groups of people, the ones who love dogs or one who loves cats. It has been a discussion throughout the years, and there is for sure no winner. Every pet wants to be loved and taken care of. In the case of cat lovers, there are many breeds which every single one of them is beautiful. Snowshoe cats are recognized by their blue eyes and their snowy paws, hence the name snowshoe.
Every cat has its distinctive features, which they are known for. This breed can be recognized by its coat and color markings which can be associated with their Siamese ancestors. They are born all-white, but as they grow up, they begin to gain some dark features. They are unique, beautiful, and combined with their athletic build, they make a perfect combination.
Unlike their ancestors, they have a better build because they are rounder, have much fuller faces and bodies. The male has a better build-up, but both the males and females have muscular bodies. Although some of them have a more triangular head, almost all of them have a perfect round head combined with long ears, which are as well rounded as the tips.
Now the important part, their eyes. This is their most powerful feature, as their eyes can range from deep to pale blue. It does not matter which shade of blue it is; you can be assured that they are always shining with love.

Personality
If you are wondering how they are behaving, well, the answer to that is just obvious. You can take a look at their beautiful shiny eyes and immediately decide for yourself. Many things are inevitable; they are very kind and intelligent creatures filled with a playful personality who just wants your attention all the time. Snowshoe cats will do anything they can to get your attention.
Even if you are trying to get work done, it will be almost impossible to do it because these little “devils” will surely be bored and will seek your attention immediately. So, prepare to not do anything work-related because you will be busy playing with this furball. They are a very energetic breed, so you should consider meeting them with a friend to play with when you are not around.
As written above, this cat is definitely not a loner cat, and if left alone for too long, she will get very bored. Companionship is part of this breed as they mostly attach to one parent so, if you are the lucky one, you should prepare for the wild ride filled with love. They will be around you all the time, but unlike dogs, who want to follow you, snowshoe is a leader.
Extraordinary roommate
They are very comfortable around people, so what this means is that they are comfortable even with small children and are very friendly to everyone. Just make sure to pet them, and give them attention or else, “hell” awaits. If they become a part of your family, it will not take long before they get cozy around everyone and starts to love everyone around them.
Some people are even saying that this breed does not consider themselves as cats but as people. If you come home from a long trip, expect them at the door to tell you everything about their day, their troubles, and how annoyed they are by other cats or dogs.
Because this breed is such an intelligent creature, they are known for being quite a mischief. You should consider buying many toys for them to play with because they are very fast, with the speed of light they will catch anything you throw on the other side of the house.
Another exciting thing about them is that they actually like water. They enjoy taking a bath with you, relaxing their muscles after a hard-working day, swimming around the bathtub, and just taking the time for themselves. These little angels are such amazing creatures that you will not regret a second you spend with them. If you want to read more about life with cats, click on this link.
History
If you wonder about their history, they are relatively new to this world as they appeared by accident. Near the end of the sixties in the last century, a Siamese breeder spotted three unusual kittens different from Siamese cats. The first thing they noticed is that they had different paws. They immediately fell in love with them, and with the help of another scientist, they started breeding Siamese cats with American shorthairs.
Many people are considering this to be the start of the snowshoe cat breed. The interest in these cats began in the early seventies but finally reached recognition in the nineties. Many people who see a snowshoe immediately think of the grumpy cat, which is popular on the internet, but the truth about that cat is that it is a mixed breed.
Throughout the years, many things have been investigated about this breed. They mostly have blue eye color; the male weighs from nine to twelve pounds, the female weighs from seven to ten pounds, most of them live from fifteen to twenty years.
The colors in which they mostly come are white, black, tan, and brown. As mentioned above, they are born like a snowflake, but as they get older, it is perfectly normal that they get darker colors on their coat.
