As summer winds down and we approach autumn, that means that a lot of us are looking for more ideas for getting ourselves (and our families) into the outdoors. With the cooler weather, it can be a bit more difficult to find something that everyone enjoys. However, if you have extra room in your yard or on your deck, there might be a few exciting options!
One of the first examples that tends to pop into my head are hot tubs. Why is that you might ask? Well, even on the chilly autumn nights, hopping into the warm water with some of your friends or family members can help conquer the cold.
Adding Variety to Your Date Nights
I know that one of the things my partner and I struggle with is keeping our date nights exciting. While there are cool resources like this one, https://www.brides.com/story/fun-fall-date-night-ideas, that can give us some ideas, I have to admit that often I just want to stay at home. What is there to do in those cases, though?
Well, when you are looking to spend the night in but still want to spice things up a bit, there are of course plenty of things that you could opt to do. For example, you could put on a movie and watch it together or share a home cooked meal (or takeout, if that is more your speed). What else, though?
Ever since my partner and I got a hot tub, though, we have found ourselves leaning towards that when we are not sure what to do. It is a simple way to relax and unwind while also spending some quality time, all of which make it quite appealing.
So, if you are finding yourself uncertain about how to continue to make things exciting, this could be an option for you. Obviously, there are other things you should probably keep in mind before choosing a 6 person hot tub, so I will get into some of those concepts now!
Adding Value to Your Home
If you have not noticed, there is a bit of a real estate craze going on right now. It is totally “in tend” to add value to our home with luxury features such as these ones, so that is another factor that comes into play when you are considering one. Of course, that also means that some costs such as installation in maintenance should be thought about.
In a lot of ways, the act of raising value in your home involves a careful balancing act. It is about cost versus long term value, especially in cases like this one. While not everyone looking to make investments like this are house flippers, I still find some of their resources valuable, like this one.
In general, if you are going to add something such as a hot tub, there are a few tips that you may want to keep in mind. The first thing is that you should strive to make the space where you install it as welcoming and inviting as possible. What do I mean?
Well, consider the ones in hotels as an example. Obviously, you will probably not make the area quite as lavish as that. However, choosing nice tiles to surround it or even to be inside of the tub (depending on the type that you decide on) can make a huge difference. Aesthetics certainly matters.
Having other amenities nearby like a fire pit or even just a place to dry off can also make a big difference. They make the area feel a lot more accommodating and enjoyable while not breaking the bank, so that is something you could think about as you design.
Is it Worth it?
This question is going to be a bit of a case-by-case basis, unfortunately. Depending on where you live, for example, the answer could vary. However, if you think that you would get a lot of use out of something like a hot tub, you might want to think about where to start looking! There are a ton of different outlets both in brick-and-mortar stores and online for you to select from.
In general, I would say that adding value to your home is a long-term investment that pays off. While you might think that you will never sell, it is important to remember that things change. We might wish that they did not, of course, but life is fluid and being able to roll with the punches is important. Sometimes we end up needing to or wanting to sell off a property.
Even if that does not happen, just think about what you are leaving behind for your family members too! If you give them something like this to work with, they will thank you for it for sure.
