Welcome!

Welcome! We’re so pleased to announce Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn’s new book, A Path Appears, which will be released Sept. 23 (and is available for pre-order now). A Path Appears follows the release of Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, which looked at the challenges that women and girls face as well as those courageous individuals who have committed their lives to stand up for rights and generate change around the globe.

The husband-and-wife team follow their #1 New York Times bestseller with an inspirational narrative that’s a little bit closer to home this time. While their stories take us around the United States and across the globe, it also brings greater awareness to the issues perpetuating poverty in our own backyards. Nicholas and Sheryl present a practical guide to becoming agents of change by taking small actions that produce great impact.

Publishers Weekly already listed the book as a top-ten pick this year. Here are some comments from people who have already read the book:

“Nobody clarifies the social challenges of our time, or the moral imperative to help meet them, better than Nick Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn.”
—President Bill Clinton

“A Path Appears is an insightful book focused on how individuals can contribute to positive change and the remarkable people behind the organizations that make it happen.”
—Angelina Jolie

“This is a lyrical guide that addresses the deep human yearning to make a difference. It’s full of indelible stories reminding us that, yes, helping people is hard—but it’s both possible and infinitely rewarding.”
—Anne Rice

As with Half the Sky, the A Path Appears book will be followed by a PBS documentary series premiering in January 2015 that examines the struggles of women in the U.S. and abroad. So stay tuned!

We’ll be updating this blog and website in the coming months with information on the book tour and broadcast — so bookmark this website and follow us on Twitter and Facebook for daily updates and much more.
